U.S. Grain Standards Act and the Federal Grain Inspection Service
NAEGA calls for full, timely reauthorization of the USGSA, paired with the staffing, oversight, and interagency coordination needed to keep this system performing at the level U.S. agriculture and global buyers expect.
International Food Aid
NAEGA supports U.S. government programs that facilitate the delivery of U.S. agricultural produce to the world’s neediest, including through direct food assistance and export credit guarantees.
Vessel Fees & Maritime Capacity
NAEGA supports action to strengthen U.S. maritime capacity and address unfair foreign practices, if it does not come at the expense of U.S. agricultural exports. Any future Section 301 vessel action must preserve competitive access to ocean transportation and include agricultural export exemptions.
U.S. Agricultural Trade Policy
NAEGA supports trade policy that strengthens the resilience and competitiveness of the agricultural economy and export sector. Policies should expand and protect market access for U.S. grain, oilseed, and related exports; remain grounded in science and credible data; and provide exporters and their customers the predictability needed to plan, contract, and invest with confidence.
Inland Water Ways
NAEGA supports strong, sustained federal action to preserve, modernize, and strengthen the system’s reliability, efficiency, and capacity in connecting American agriculture to domestic and global markets.
